Celia hunts monsters for a living, never caring for politics and kings.

When a royal summons names her the Seven Kingdoms' next Dragon Slayer and orders her to undertake a holy quest, she refuses at first. But she can't miss a chance to cure her dying sister with dragon's blood.

Celia is not the first. Every Slayer rides through what their predecessors left behind. Elves gone feral after a Slayer locked away their magic. A madman chained to a tower wall, his power bleeding into the sky because another Slayer called it mercy. Every kingdom wants her to clean something up. And, as she does, she leaves more wake than any dragon could.

The task of a Slayer is to fix the world. Or at least try. But what if the dragon is merely an excuse?

Some roles have to be filled.
Monsters are made, not born.
