Monsters are made, not born.

Celia hunts monsters for a living. Her life just doesn't have a place for politics and kings.

But they find her anyway. A royal summons names her the next Dragon Slayer and orders her on a holy quest. She refuses at first, but it's a chance — a chance to save her dying sister with dragon's blood.

The road takes her through what her predecessors left behind. Elves who went feral when their magic was locked by one of the Slayers. A madman chained to a tower wall, his power bleeding into the sky because another Slayer chose mercy. Every kingdom wants her to clean something up.

The further she rides, the more she realizes this is how it was meant to work — slaying a dragon is merely an excuse, while the task of a Slayer is to fix the world. Or at least try.
